Join Montisi in celebrating the art of Italian film. Located in the rolling hills southeast of Siena, Montisi has had an 80-year love affair with the cinema. Ours was built during the 1950’s and formed the centerpiece of our village life, and still does. Enjoy a mixture of Italian masterpieces, contemporary films and rising new talents. In our inaugural year, we will feature 12 films. Films are shown in the late afternoon and into the evening; you will have ample time to wander our Tuscany and savor our wines, foods, history and culture. Attend the 6:00pm show, enjoy a simple dinner, a glass of wine, and stroll to the 9:00pm show. See Day Trips to read about the possibilities.

With the help and collaboration of the Centro Sperimantale di Cinemagrafia and Cineteca Nazionale, we are able to bring to our first annual Montisi Italian Film Festival a range of films to illustrate, in part, the magic and variety of Italian film legacy. They represent epic works from Italian master directors, pivotal contemporary films and three of the best of the recent new works. We will welcome members of these new films to our events this year. We are pleased to present, below, our 2013 program.
All films are shown at Il Cinema at via Umberto 1, No. 147.
All films in Italian with English subtitles.
